Barack Obama and James Comey have a big problem on their hands. Thanks to President Trump, one man was able to file a lawsuit against them.
And it’s bad news for Obama and the Deep State.
Kristian Saucier was a Navy sailor who was pardoned by President Trump. Saucier’s story became a standard part of Trump’s campaign speeches to describe how Hillary Clinton was able to escape justice for sharing classified information on her illegal private server.
When Saucier was in the Navy, he admitted to taking photographs of a classified section of a submarine. Saucier maintained he only wanted to show the pictures to family members, but that didn’t matter to federal prosecutors who charged him. Saucier was eventually sentenced to one year in prison and a $100 fine.
But President Trump, who recognized the unfairness of punishing a service member while Hillary Clinton was allowed to walk free after doing so much worse, pardoned Saucier. Now Saucier is striking back. Saucier is filing a lawsuit naming Barack Obama, James Comey, and the Justice Department as defendants and for selectively prosecuting him.
Saucier told Fox News in an interview, “They interpreted the law in my case to say it was criminal, but they didn’t prosecute Hillary Clinton. Hillary is still walking free. Two guys on my ship did the same thing and weren’t treated as criminals. We want them to correct the wrong.”
Ronald Daigle – who is representing Saucier in the lawsuit – raised the issue of unequal justice by stating “We’ll highlight the differences in the way Hillary Clinton was prosecuted and how my client was prosecuted. We’re seeking to cast a light on this to show that there’s a two-tier justice system, and we want it to be corrected.”
Millions of Americans believe the FBI’s conduct in the Clinton email investigation did not pass the smell test. Clinton staffers were granted immunity and Hillary Clinton was interviewed by the FBI with her attorney Cheryl Mills in the room. Critics contend the FBI investigation into Clinton transmitting classified information over her private server was a whitewash by the FBI. They went through the motions so they could clear her and remove any questions about what Comey and other top Bureau officials believed was her impending victory in the 2016 election.
Saucier is comparing his conduct – where he innocently took photos to share with family members – to Clinton’s. The FBI has never adequately answered whether foreign governments or hackers were able to gain access to her server. However, there is evidence to suggest that they did.
In his July 5th press conference, Comey stated, “Hostile actors gained access to the private commercial email accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact.”
Penetrating her contacts’ emails would allow a skilled hacker to work backwards on gaining access to her server.
Clinton put America’s secrets at risk by allowing hostile foreign powers to access her server. Saucier never threatened national security.
There were clearly two standards of justice at work. Now thanks to Saucier’s lawsuit, there may finally be some accountability. And some real justice for Hillary Clinton.
