According to a report by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm Al-Sabea, Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Ambassador Susan Rice met with a delegation of Palestinians on December 15th in Washington D.C. and introduced the anti-Israel resolution which was passed eight days later on December 23 by the UN Security Council, thanks to an Obama-directed US vote abstention.
The Egyptian newspaper published what it claims are the transcripts of meetings between top US and Palestinian officials which seems to corroborate Israeli accusations that the Obama administration was behind last week’s UN Security Council resolution, and hints that the Palestinians had already seen the plan Kerry presented to the UN, which Israel believes is the first step to the Obama administration trying to impose a “peace solution” on Israel.
Another possibility being discussed is that before he leaves office, Barack Obama will “recognize” a Palestinian state. Any of these possibilities remove any need for negotiations. Obama/Kerry plan to give the Palestinians what they want, so why bother negotiating with Israel–which has been the Palestinian position since Obama took office and made the settlements a major issue.
Friday’s UNSC vote and the new possible actions have been rumored since mid-September but there was no way Obama could act before the election while Democrats still needed the campaign donations and votes of America’s Jews.
On December 22, the day the original Security Council vote was to have taken place, the Israeli news site Walla published a report almost identical to the one on the Egyptian news site. Walla quoted a senior Israeli official as stating that in a meeting between Kerry and a Palestinian delegation to Washington headed by Palestinian Liberation Organization Secretary General Saeb Erekat, agreement was reached on the matter of a resolution against the settlements, with Kerry saying the United States would not veto it.
The five-page Arabic document released by the site appears to be a summary of the meeting, composed by the Palestinian delegation. If the document is authentic, it was probably leaked by officials in the Egyptian government.
During the meeting Kerry promised the Palestinians America’s “full cooperation,” while Rice reportedly praised Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat for predicting four years ago that Netanyahu would not be in favor of the two-state solution.

NORM ‘n’ AL Note: Have you ever heard of someone who is “two-faced?” Have you ever heard Obama referred to as being for Muslims more than for Israel or even the USA? We are about to say goodbye to the most two-faced, evil, unprincipled, unpatriotic, unethical, untrustworthy Oval Office occupant the USA has ever had the misfortune to elect. The man has absolutely no honor and no integrity. None. If you have nothing else to do on January 20th, make the trip to Washington DC so you can join the crowd of Americans — it will probably be a very BIG crowd — gathered there to give Mr. Obama a good sendoff. (You get to decide what you think that sendoff should look like and sound like.)
