Important FOLLOW-UP: 78% of voters in recent US election thought media coverage of the election campaign was biased in favor of Hillary Clinton

In addition, 69% of voters said national news media are not honest or truthful, and fully 97% of voters said they did not allow that dishonesty to affect their vote.


“The media are in full panic mode because the American people rejected their leftist agenda — and them,” said Media Research Center President Brent Bozell in a Nov. 15 statement about the poll. “People didn’t believe the nonsense that the media were politically neutral. Even a third of Hillary’s supporters believed they were pro-Hillary!”

The YouGov poll showed that 1/3 (32%) of Hillary Clinton voters believe the media were “pro-Clinton.” In addition, among all voters, 59% said the media were for Clinton while only 21% said the media were for Trump.

Further, 8% of Trump voters said they would have voted for Clinton if they had believed what the media were saying about Trump, the survey revealed.

However, 97% of voters said they did not let the media’s bias influence their vote, according to the poll.

“When you have a strong majority of actual voters saying the national ‘news’ media were biased in favor of Hillary Clinton and tried to influence the public to vote for her, and believing they are fundamentally dishonest, you have a major problem that can’t be fixed with an apology,” said the MRC’s Bozell.

“The public has rejected this institution as being both non-objective and untruthful,” he said.  “There is an institutional bias at major media networks that must be repaired and I am highly skeptical that news executives are interested or capable of undertaking this responsibility.”


NORM ‘n’ AL Note:  People who are “untruthful” are most commonly called “LIARS.”  In other words, a huge majority of American voters believe they are being lied to on a regular basis by the national media networks. Like MRC, we are betting that the executives running those national media networks are not interested in getting the public to change their opinion.



“Despite the overwhelming and persistent bias of this cycle in particular, I am heartened by the fact that, according to our poll, the American people didn’t let it sway their vote,” said Bozell.  “If this isn’t a wake-up call for the left-wing media to stay out of politics, I don’t know what is.”
