Harry Reid (D-NV) is a grotesque and contemptible individual who is actually a prime example of everything that is wrong with Washington politics. He is a man who has put himself and the Democratic party before his constituents or his country. He is a man who has lied, cheated and slandered – all in an effort to win. His personal motto may well be “the ends always justify the means so just win, baby!”
His legacy is disgusting and his name is mud.
Thankfully, he’s all about proving us right. In a recent interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Senator Reid gives the full monty and does us the favor of proving just how crude, vindictive and immoral he really is.
Dana Bash: One thing he is not concerned about, what people think of him.
Senator Harry Reid: I don’t really care. I don’t want to be somebody I’m not.
Bash: You’re a polarizing figure and a lot of Republicans actually blame you personally for the way Congress and Washington in general has gotten so highly partisan in the last couple of years.
Reid: That’s interesting. I served as a whip for a long time. And the Republicans were enthused in their praise for me.
Bash: That was before he used the Senate floor to go after GOP mega donors, the Koch brothers, and accused Mitt Romney of not paying his taxes with no evidence.
Reid: Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t.
Reid: No, I don’t regret it at all. The Koch brothers, no one would help me. They were afraid the Koch brothers would go after them. So I did it on my own.
Bash: So no regrets about Mitt Romney, about the Koch brothers? Because some people have even called it McCarthy-ite.
Reid: Well, they can call it whatever they want. Romney didn’t win, did he?
And there it is.
The new modern liberal code of ethics neatly encapsulated for us by Harry Reid. “Just win – that’s all that matters.”
This is a dangerous and gross turn of events for a nation that was built on a foundation of moral absolutes. If this is what our nation and our politics have become then there really is no hope. If Reid’s callous evil has infected others in Congress then there may be no way to stop the spread of this horrible cancer.
We really can’t be rid of Harry Reid soon enough.
