1. “Terrorism is caused by boredom.”
Obama and his cabinet members want to blame anything but Islam for the bloodshed, the beheadings, the burnings, and the senseless killings of women and children.
The State Department’s Sarah Sewall expanded the blame list on Tuesday, speaking at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. There, she claimed that there were all kinds of factors that drove people to “violent extremism.”
“Current research, including interviews with former violent extremists or rehabilitated terrorists consistently reveals that there is no one single driver of violent extremism,” she told the audience. “Rather, there are a number of common ones including boredom, intergenerational tensions, the search for greater meaning in life, perceived adventure, attempts to impress the local community, a desire for increased credibility, to belong, to gain peer acceptance, and revenge.”
Boredom. Intergenerational tensions. Search for greater meaning. Adventure. Glory. Credibility. Peer pressure.
Written in the Quran are more than 100 verses that implore the faithful to violence. The original words – the original call to war – stands today. And while there are plenty of peaceful Muslims who denounce terrorism, they are thus in violation of their own revered scripture.
You can be any kind of Muslim you like, but the Quran makes clear which kind is favored. President Obama claims that ISIS and other terrorist groups do not represent the true nature of Islam. But it can easily be argued that the world’s “moderate” Muslim population is further away from the religion than the terrorists.
A paper no less liberally biased than The New York Times reported last year that “the Islamic State, Boko Haram in Nigeria and the Taliban…took credit for two-thirds of worldwide deaths related to terrorism in 2013.”
The common factor? Boredom? Intergenerational conflict?
When was the last time you, or someone you know, had the thought “Gosh, I am so bored! Guess I better go out and kill somebody…maybe that’ll help!” You’ve never had this thought? Then congratulations…you’re probably pretty normal.
Instead of guessing and making excuses for terrorists out of our own ignorance, as the State Department and the rest of the Obama administration is doing, WHY DON’T WE JUST ASK THE TERRORISTS WHY THEY ARE KILLING PEOPLE? Well, guess what? We have done that. People have posed that precise question to them. And the answer is simple: It’s because that’s what the Quran tells them to do. We suppose they could well be bored by it all now that it’s become so common a means of getting rid of the infidels, but boredom plays no part in motivation. None. Islamic terrorists kill unbelievers, and it doesn’t seem to matter much whether those unbelievers are living in the same country as the terrorists, or here in the US, or in any other part of the world. A member of any other faith than Islam is an unbeliever. A Muslim who doesn’t think that other Muslims should be killing people if they do not express the same radical belief, is also an unbeliever to the radical.
Mr. Obama and those who work for him never seem to tire of making excuses for radical Islam. How stupid do they think we are? And how stupid do they seem to repeat the same nonsense over and over again, when no one believes it?
2. “We are (still) the most transparent administration in history.”
One might have thought that with everything that has come out of the White House in the last six years – to say nothing of the current scandal regarding Hillary Clinton’s secret emails – the Obama Administration would have let their claims on transparency die a quiet death. After all, if you can’t deliver on your campaign promises, at least admit it.
If yesterday’s White House press briefing is anything to go by, though, this administration is not just aiming for transparency, but they actually think they still deserve the title of the most transparent administration in history! When asked if they still consider themselves the champions of open government, Press Secretary Josh Earnest didn’t even have the dignity to hesitate.
“Yes,” he said. “And the reason for that is that there are large number of ways that reporters and the public have access to the administration and to decisions made at the administration.” He used the public availability of visitor access records and their efforts to make FOIA requests more efficient to back up his unbelievable claim.
There was no pause while the press corps laughed, but there must have been some serious eye-rolling once Earnest left the podium. President Barack Obama has failed in more ways than one can count, but there is maybe no promise he has delivered on less than his vow to be more transparent than his predecessors. Many in the media – the liberal, fawning media, no less – have declared this White House no less than the most secretive administration we’ve ever seen.
According to a report just released by the Columbia Journalism Review, things are worse now than at any point in Obama’s tenure. The report’s author, Susan Milligan, insists that the current relationship between the media and the Obama administration is “more distant than it has been in a half-century.”
The fact that Obama plays his cards so close to the vest is bad enough. That his minions continue to propagate the lie that they are one of the most open and honest White Houses to ever grace Washington makes it that much worse. If this were a Republican president, this secrecy would be the top story at least once a week on all major newspapers and TV news programs.
When we have no access to what’s going on behind the White House doors, the soil is ripe for corruption to take root. We the people deserve to have a window into our government. It’s the only way we can take measures to ensure the survival of American liberty.
